Pubs given chance to bid for free paint job

Paint brand Glidden Trade is offering a pub in the Manchester area the chance to win a makeover worth £2,000.

The company, part of ICI Paints AkzoNobel, said the winner of the “Paint and a Pint” competition will get redecoration by a professional decorator and money towards a re-opening party.

There will also be three second place prizes worth £500 and five third place prizes of £100 in Glidden Trade vouchers.

Any member of the public aged over 18 can nominate their local independent pub in to the competition by sending an email to: gliddentrade@tangerinepr.com

Closing date is 5pm on 31 July 2010.

Glidden said it was an attempt to help the pub trade in the area, which has seen a wave of closures sparked by the recession and rising beer tax.
