ITV denies MediaCity move is done deal

ITV has denied a report in today's edition of Crain's that it has concluded a deal with property giant Peel to move its Manchester operations to MediaCity in Salford Quays.

In this morning's newspaper, we reported that the media giant is due to take the remainder of the space in the first phase of the scheme, which would equate to more than 100,000 sq ft.

Sources told us that several potential tenants had been turned away from the development, suggesting that last week's departure of MediaCityUK business development director Jason Legget was due to the fact that the scheme was now full.

However, a spokesman for ITV said that it had not yet agreed a deal to move to the site.

“We are continuing to examine two options regarding ITV's base in the North West,” he said.

A spokesman for MediaCityUK said that space remains available at phase one of the development for interested parties.
