By Michael Fahy
The Hut Group, the online retailer of entertainment products, has launched a new handbag and accessories site called mybag.co.uk.
The Northwich-based firm, which sells DVDs and CDs online for high street retailers, will sell a range of well-known brands including including Mischa Barton, Nica, Ameko, Ri2k and Max C London.
Handbags will retail from £8 for canvas shoppers up to £200 for leather grab bags. It will also sell ranges of sunglasses from £9 as well as belts, scarves and purses.
The firm said that it believes the site, which launches today, will become a leading supplier of handbag and fashion accessories within the next two years. The firm, which is majority owned by ex-20:20 Mobile finance director Matt Moulding, has launched a series of new category areas recently including Sports, Footwear, Health & Beauty and Toys. In 2008, the firm reported a turnover of £24m.
