Hassall made law library president
Jonathan Hassall, a partner at Manchester-based law firm Linder Myers, has been appointed president of the Manchester Incorporated Law Library.
The library, in Kennedy Street, in Manchester city centre, is a membership organisation which houses legal books dating back to the 17th century as well as modern law books, law reports, statutes and journals.
In 2010 the library celebrates both the 190th anniversary of its foundation and the 125th anniversary of moving into its present Venetian Gothic-fronted premises.
IP and insolvency lawyer Hassall, who joined Linder Myers as a partner in 2007, said: “The Manchester Incorporated Law Library and its fine building are part of Manchester's history. However the library continues to provide a vital service to the legal profession in the north west and I am determined to lead the development of that service to ensure that the library remains relevant in the 21st century.”
