Swarbrick moves from RBS to Barclays
By Michael Fahy
Barclays' commercial arm has appointed Chris Swarbrick from Royal Bank of Scotland's Large Corporate team in Manchester as a commercial director to head its new Manchester property team.
Swarbrick, who has spent eight years at RBS, carried out a number of different roles at the bank including head of business development and in its regional corporate property team.
Matt Jones has also moved to Barclays from RBS as a senior relationship director. He spent 24 years at the bank, most recently in its corporate real estate team.
The bank has also brought in ex-Bank of Scotland employee Paul Devenport to head a regional property team based in its Liverpool office.
The bank's head of property finance for the north, David Hardcastle, said the hires would “significantly strengthen our property finance team in the North West, helping to achieve Barclays regional growth ambitions”.
“Although the economic crisis is global the property market remains local and there will always be opportunities,” he said.
