Grosvenor House takes Operon's Rochdale contracts
Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council has appointed Grosvenor House Group Plc as interim facilities management provider to take over from Leeds-based Operon, which collapsed last month.
Grosvenor will look after the Gracie Fields Theatre, the M6 Theatre and Theatre Swimming Pool and Oper8 Leisure Centre, as well as five schools.
Anne Taylor, head of business partnerships at Rochdale MBC, said “I can reassure everyone that all services in schools are continuing as normal, and that the full programme of events at the Gracie Fields Theatre is unaffected. The theatre has an exciting programme of shows and events lined up and it’s very much business as usual.”
Privately-owned Grosvenor House Group Plc, which is based in Harrogate, has FM contracts with more than £200 million of PFI projects in the UK.
The main services it wil provide in Rochdale are caretaking, cleaning, security, school meals, and grounds maintenance.
