Small firms lobby group are 'pillocks', says Iceland Foods boss

Iceland Foods chief executive Malcolm Walker has called the Knutsford-based Forum of Private Business (FPB) "pillocks" in an extraordinary public spat.

Walker was quoted in the Daily Telegraph yesterday as criticising a new code of conduct to protect farmers and small suppliers.

The supermarket boss described it as "a complete waste of time" and said plans for a supermarket ombudsman were "madness". He said testy negotiations between supermarkets and suppliers were "a fact of life".

FPB chief executive Phil Orford said he found Walker's comments "extremely disappointing".

and reflected the unreasonable way supermarkets treat their suppliers.

Today the newspaper quoted Walker, speaking from his holiday in Barbados, as saying: "The FPB are pillocks."

28th Feb sees the end of the Iceland competition to find the new face of Iceland. Who would want to be the face of an organisation that shows such contempt for their supply base? So thats why mums go to Iceland? I think its to avoid Mr Walker in Barbados - when will these dinosaurs wake up and realise that the British public are sick and tired of these bully boy tactics? Mr Walker - that's why this mum and all her friends will not shop at Iceland!

He's the pillock if he thinks such outbursts will endear him to his customers, some of whom work for his suppliers! I for one won't be shopping there again.Goodbye Mr Arrogant
