Tangerine buys Juice Digital

Manchester-based PR agency Tangerine has acquired Stockport-based digital media agency Juice Digital from Steve Downes, a former business partner of Liverpool-based PR boss Dougal Paver.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will see Juice Digital's team moving into Tangerine's Castlefield headquarters at Potato Wharf. The firm said it will retain the Juice brand invest in growing it into “the leading social media specialist outside London”.

Tangerine group MD Sandy Lindsay said the acquisition would boost its own social medial offer, bring Downes into its own senior management team and allow it to take over a “very busy” new business pipeline.

“We have spotted an increasing trend whereby companies have expressed an interest in purchasing the services of a specialist social media team, over and above other PR and marketing services already in place,” said Lindsay. “”Juice Digital, as well as supporting other client offers, will enable us to capitalise on this trend.”
