Franchising gold award for Cheadle Hulme firm
Horticulture, gardening & landscaping contractor Countrywide Grounds Maintenance has won a gold award from the British Franchise Association.
Nine finalists were in the running for the prize at the BFA’s Franchisor of the Year Awards, but the judges said Cheadle Hulme-based Countrywide shone through thanks to its commitment to invest time and money into securing the future of its business and its franchisees.
Sir Bernard Ingham, president of the BFA and chairman of the judges, said the company had “clearly demonstrated that the work it is doing will ensure the future success of its business.”
Simon Stott, managing director, said the award was "a magnificent honour". He added: "It is true testament to the hard work and dedication of all Countrywide’s head office support staff and our excellent franchisees.”
Countrywide has 45 franchised outlets with a combined turnover of £17m and more than 500 staff. Its network of franchisees maintain more than 12,000 sites with annual contract values from £500 to more than £2m.
