More redundancies planned at Urban Splash
By Simon Binns
Manchester-based developer Urban Splash has confirmed it plans to make a further round of redundancies in its northern construction arm.
A slowdown in the number of projects going on site has been blamed for the most recent consultation process.
A statement from the company, led by chairman Tom Bloxham, said: "I can confirm that we have begun a consultation with staff at Urban Splash Build North. Unfortunately this is as a result of there being fewer schemes moving forward."
The company has already shed nearly 25 per cent of its workforce in the face of the collapsing housing market, releasing 60 of 250 staff. The Build North arm was also downsized last December.
