Prime Minister helps sell conservatories

A Cheshire company is using a larger-than-life-size image of Gordon Brown in an attempt to sell more conservatories.

Tony Wooderson, of Crystal Windows and Conservatories, has put a 6ft tall image of the Prime Minister in mid-speech in his showroom window in Poynton.

Next to it, in quote marks are the words: “We are officially now in a recession. And Crystal is officially now doing some amazing deals on conservatories.” Underneath the “quotation” are the words: “Offer ends when this bloody recession ends”.

Wooderson said his business was “feeling the economic strain”. He added: “We wanted to make a statement and poke a bit of fun at the situation. Yes, we’re doing deals like everyone else and it’s a great time to be a customer as you can really make your money go far.”
