Manchester digital elects council
By Richard Morris
Members of Manchester Digital, the trade body for the digital sector in the North West, have elected their new council.
A total of 23 people stood for election during the group’s annual general meeting on Tuesday night with 12 places available.
Re-elected members include Mike Ryan of Idaho Technology, Kirstie Buchanan of Reading Room, Dave Carter of the Manchester Digital Development Agency, David Bird of Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, Simon Wharton of PushON, Manchester Digital chairman Shaun Fensom, Raj Mahapatra of Legal 2.0, Tony Foggett of Code Computerlove, and Richard Hudson of Vanilla Storm Ltd.
The three newly elected members were freelance communications consultant Katie Moffat, Liane Grimshaw of Amaze Plc and Nina Mack of MadeWith.
Fensom said one of the main worries for the digital sector was the confidence level of potential clients and reluctance in placing orders, but he said most people he’d talked to seem very busy with contracts still coming in.
