Sweet Mandarin signs on to Twitter

By Richard Morris

A Chinese restaurant and cooking school in Manchester has turned to the social networking site Twitter to boost takings.

Sweet Mandarin, based in the city’s Northern Quarter, claims to be the first Chinese restaurant in the UK to use the internet site as a way of increasing bookings and takeaway orders.

Chief executive Lisa Tse goes online everyday to tell Manchester’s Twitter community about Sweet Mandarin’s daily specials, cooking techniques and the latest offers available at the restaurant.
