MTV rules out MediaCity move
MTV Europe has "categorically denied" rumours that it is to take space at MediaCity UK on Salford Quays.
The music TV station had previously declined to comment on speculation that it would be moving its European headquarters from London to the Peel Holdings development.
An MTV Europe spokesman told Crain's: "There are absolutely no plans to move to MediaCity. We haven't even looked at it."
Peel is said to be on the verge of two new signings at MediaCity, one from the North West and the other from elsewhere.
Software firm Pharos, a recent arrival at the The Pie Factory at MediaCity, has carried out projects for MTV Europe. The company, based in Reading, has set up a four-person development base in Salford, saying it wanted to be close to where “new workflows in acquisition, production, post-production and publishing are sure to be pioneered."
