Plans to refurbish 22-26 Cross Street submitted

By Simon Binns

Leeds-based Aurora Property Developments and Premier Property Group, based in Edinburgh but which has a Manchester office, have submitted plans for a comprehensive refurbishment of 22-26 Cross Street in Manchester city centre.

The 26,000 sq ft, eight-storey building, which is next to The Royal Exchange, will be refurbished into an office development with retail on the ground floor. Work will begin in November with the offices available for occupation in June 2009.

HKR Architects has designed the new offices, which will range from around 2,000 sq ft to 21,800 sq ft. The retail outlet extends to approximately 2,600 sq ft with additional basement storage.

CB Richard Ellis and Knight Frank have been appointed as joint agents to market the office accommodation and Jones Lang LaSalle have been appointed for the retail outlet.
