3 Greater Manchester business women win awards
By Simon Binns
Three Greater Manchester-based business women have picked up awards at the inaugural Northwest Women in Business Awards, which took place on Merseyside last week.
Michelle Clarke of Foresight Health Ltd, a Manchester-based intermediary company that helps firms improve staff performance, was awarded the runner-up prize in the Business Start Up of the Year category.
In the Entrepreneur of the Year category, Sharon O’Kane of Renovo, a Manchester-based biopharmaceutical company, walked away with the top prize, and Debbie Pierce, of The Bury Black Pudding Company, was the runner-up.
The awards were organised by the Northwest Women’s Enterprise Forum (NWWEF).
Sylvia Phillips, chair of the NWWEF, said: “The awards were a great success. Female entrepreneurs make an important contribution to the regional economy and it is vital that we create an environment and culture that encourages more women to start and grow businesses.”
